Ateliers

There are about 50 artists’ studios in Flutgraben. An independent studio allocation group decides on the allocation of free studios. The studio allocation group consists of six people: three artists from the Flutgraben, two actors (art/culture) from the city and one person from the board. Members of the association could submit proposals for the studio award group. The studio award group was formed in 2021 and will exist for the next 3 calls for proposals.

The criteria for the studio awards are:

• Diversity
with the Atelier Award we want to strengthen the access to the resources of the Floodgate in the future for BIPoC and other people who are affected by discrimination (due to BeHinderung, transphobia, classism and others).

• Urgency
social and professional

• Professionalism
the artistic activity is the main one

• Self-organization
the participation of the artists* in self-organization is crucial for the preservation of Flutgraben. Interest and experience in self-organized work are therefore important to us and will be taken into account in the allocation process.

• Heterogeneity of artistic production

Free studios are published on the Flutgraben website, via the tenant list and other relevant platforms. To be added to the mailing list please write to us:
