The approx. 2,300 m2 roof area has only been poorly repaired over the past few decades and has repeatedly shown leaks. All roof areas are insulated and re-covered. As part of the measure, the landmarked border post walkway, the attachment points of which have so far penetrated the roof membrane and caused notorious leaks, will be removed and re-installed on a building protection mat. After a detailed coordination process with the State Monuments Office (LDA), this section was commissioned and work began at the end of April so that this part of the renovation will also be completed by mid-2021.
