Multi – Eine Performance am Flutgraben / A story about a Borderline

They are back: from 13 to 16 August, the special species called Sprewanians will once again make a stop at the multi-purpose hall at Flutgraben between Treptow and Kreuzberg. Because this building has it all: no other building protruded so far into the death strip during the Wall era. As a result, people repeatedly tried to escape from the factory building to the West. After each escape attempt, the building was sealed off and the surveillance of the employees there was tightened further.

But the Sprewanians also know the other side of this area: the once swampy marshland around the Flutgraben became a Berlin amusement park as early as the 19th century, a tradition that continues up to this day. The Sprewanians, who easily adapt to social and urban changes at all times, move skilfully and with a great deal of humour between these opposites in a multilingual, multi-perspective and multimedia performance.
